Yesterday I had the pleasure of going to the Renninger's Extravaganza antique fair in Mount Dora.  It's a big event held here in central Florida in the winter months.  I've always wanted to go but just never had the time.  So yesterday I took the day off work and hubby and I headed over to check it out.  Wow was I impressed.  I wish I had more cash to spend because there was lots of vintage costume jewelry and lots of sterling silver charm bracelets too.  I bought about 30 pieces to sell in my Charmcrazey eBay Store and am thrilled with my loot.  You can bet I'll be back in February prepared with more money.  It was a fun day.  Here are some samples of what I got....

Wanda, I love going to Renningers up in PA. There are thousands of dealers every weekend. I need to share something with someone, and you will appreciate it. Last week a friend of mine took her mothers gold jewelry to sell for scrap. Including a gold charm bracelet. (sob)…she said the charms were from the 60s and weren’t anything great. (sob, again)….I knew she needed the money (she got over 1000 for her jewelry) so I didn’t get on her case, but one more piece of a persons history is gone. Charm bracelets are so important. Funny thing is, my friend is into historical preservation of houses.

PS I’m also an online costume jewelry seller. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks for sharing your experience. The Renningers in Florida isn’t quite that big I don’t think. I can appreciate your dismay over the scrap jewelry. I have a friend that works at a coin shop that collects jewelry to scrap and it’s sad. Whenever I have money I try to rescue a few pieces. I’m in the process of expanding my jewelry sales to include costume jewelry in addition to charm bracelets. It’s just as much fun I’m finding out. Problem is, just like with charm bracelets I want to keep more than I want to sell.
